The Department of Tourism – Northern Mindanao Office Region 10 (DOT10) is proud to announce the much-anticipated 2nd Mindanao Tourism Expo (MTEx2024), set to captivate audiences and media alike. The event was introduced to the public and local media through the engaging Philippine Information Agency (PIA) talk show, Kapihan sa PIA, held on April 3, 2024, at the iconic Rotunda, Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.

MTEx2024, hosted by DOT10, signifies a collaborative effort among the five Mindanao regional offices of the Department of Tourism and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). It serves as a platform to showcase Mindanao as a secure tourism destination, spotlighting its diverse array of top-notch offerings capable of competing on an international stage.

The expo’s primary objective is to shine a spotlight on Northern Mindanao, positioning it as the next premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in Mindanao. Through strategic partnerships and innovative initiatives, MTEx2024 aims to attract a significant influx of tourists and bolster the region’s tourism industry.

During the enlightening talk show, Juan Carlos Valention Baclig, Head of Marketing and Product Development at DOT10, exuded optimism for the future of tourism in the region. Baclig expressed confidence that by 2024, Northern Mindanao would achieve its ambitious goal of welcoming three million tourists.
