The world-class 5150 Triathlon Series is heading to breathtaking new shores with the launch of 5150 Camiguin, happening on May 3, 2026. Known as the Island Born of Fire, Camiguin is all set to welcome triathletes from around the Philippines and across the globe for an unforgettable race that combines natural beauty, cultural charm, and warm island hospitality.

Nestled in Northern Mindanao, Camiguin is a gem famous for its seven volcanoes, pristine white sandbars, and centuries-old heritage sites. From the famous White Island to the mystical Sunken Cemetery, the island offers a stunning backdrop that perfectly embodies the spirit of adventure.

This highly anticipated event isn’t just about competition—it’s a celebration of sport, tourism, and local culture. The 5150 Camiguin will showcase the island’s vibrant character and its growing potential as a premier multisport destination in the Philippines.
“Camiguin has long been one of the country’s most beautiful and storied islands, and bringing a 5150 race here allows us to combine both adventure and cultural discovery,” said Princess Galura, President and General Manager of Sunrise Events Inc., exclusive licensee of the IRONMAN brand in the Philippines.
“Each 5150 race is designed to highlight the beauty of its host destination, and Camiguin—with its iconic Sunken Cemetery and scenic coastal roads—is an unforgettable addition to our calendar.”

Athletes will dive into the clear waters off the coast of Old Catarman, where the Sunken Cemetery Monument rises from the sea—a truly iconic landmark and a one-of-a-kind swim start.
The bike leg takes competitors on a two-loop journey along the island’s Circumferential Road, beginning at the Old Spanish Church Ruins and winding through the coastline’s majestic views and lush countryside.
Finally, the run course ends at the Camiguin Sports Complex, where athletes will make a victory lap around the track oval amid cheers and warm smiles from the local community—a true showcase of Camiguin’s hospitality and community spirit.
For Governor Xavier Jesus “XJ” D. Romualdo, the event marks a milestone for Camiguin’s growing tourism and sports initiatives.

“We are proud to welcome triathletes from across the Philippines and around the world to experience Camiguin, not just as a destination, but as a community that celebrates nature, culture, and active living,” said Governor Romualdo.
“Hosting the 5150 Triathlon reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and showcasing the island’s natural wonders in a responsible and exciting way.”
Open to both individual and relay participants, 5150 Camiguin is ideal for both first-time triathletes and seasoned competitors. With its accessible race distances, scenic routes, and strong community support, the event promises to become a must-experience highlight in the Philippine triathlon calendar.

“Camiguin embodies the best of what makes racing in the Philippines special—breathtaking scenery, a supportive local community, and an atmosphere of genuine warmth,” Galura added. “We look forward to giving athletes a race experience that truly captures the spirit of the island.”
More than a race, 5150 Camiguin is an invitation to explore one of the country’s most enchanting islands. After the finish line, triathletes and their families can unwind and experience the island’s unique attractions—soak in the Ardent Hot Springs, dive into the Sto. Niño Cold Springs, chase waterfalls, or simply relax by the White Island Sandbar with the stunning Mt. Hibok-Hibok as a backdrop.

From its awe-inspiring landscapes to its warm people and vibrant local flavors, Camiguin is ready to ignite both your racing spirit and your sense of wonder.
The 5150 Triathlon Camiguin is proudly supported by the Province of Camiguin, and organized & produced by Sunrise Events Inc.
